YOUTH ARISE

Prof. Mulinge encourages the youth to rise and take up their responsibilities

During the Youth Summit on 13th June 2019, Prof. Mulinge, informed the youth that they are the catalysts of change. He urged them to strive to be role models to their peers. According to him, for meaningful and constructive change to occur the youth have to re-orient their attitude, which he referred as being born again. Young people are fundamental drivers of social change but to achieve that standard, they have to shun blame and assume responsibility. They as well are the main victims of social hiccups including corruption, poverty, unemployment and poor governance. They are not only leaders for tomorrow but today as well and should contribute devotedly in the war against corruption. Youth should be called to order and encouraged to rise and claim what belongs to them. They should stop focusing on their challenges and understand it is their responsibility to reach out to others. Young people are a bubbling enthusiasm which if regulated and utilized the right way can be the foundation of cohesion, peace, security and national development. They were told that they cannot afford to be spectators but rather earnest their energy into constructive projects and programs that drive their agenda.
